With $4.3 million invested in food programs in 2009, Robin Hood was New York City’s largest non-government funder of emergency food. In the fall of 2009, with the need greater than ever, Robin Hood partnered with FreshDirect to provide meals for 120,000 New Yorkers who might otherwise go hungry during the holiday season. Individuals were invited to donate $50 holiday meals which included a turkey and all the fixings, enough for eight people.
